Paris

My favorite places to eat and drink in Paris.

Bibim House

restaurant · Opéra ·

I usually only get bibimbap from here. It’s tucked away in an off-street in an otherwise busy area, which makes it great to get some peace and quiet on a day out.

What to get

Bibimbap. For sure.

Boulangerie Bo

bakery · Bastille ·

Almost everything here is just so good. My favorites are the roule cannelle, the grignotte tomate confites olives, and the roule kimchi.

Café Isaka

ice cream · Opéra ·

Their ice creams are fantastic. They have a pandan ice cream which is amazing, as well as one made with ube. Their seasonal ice creams are really good — it’s worth checking their Instagram to see what they have on. I tried their fried ice cream once, and I didn’t like it that much.

Dong Né Chicken

restaurant · Palais-Royal ·

This is a Korean fried chicken place near Opéra/Palais-Royale/Pyramides.

What to get

An orthodox recommendation, but go for the burger here. This is one of the very few places that you’ll actually get a Korean fried chicken burger, and it’s incredibly unique. It’s so juicy, it’s tender, it’s fantastic.

Early Bird - Artisanal Coffee Roasters

cafe · Aligre ·

This is hands down my favorite coffee place in Paris. It’s inside of a small market in the 12th arrondissement. Keep in mind that there’s not a lot of place to sit and drink your coffee — it’s more of a counter. My favorite is their flat white, but honestly, everything is great here. This is also where I buy my beans from every week.

eco bowl

restaurant · Arts et Métiers ·

I was literally eating here four times a week at one point. Their poke bowl is the best poke bowl I’ve ever had. What I like so much about it is that you can choose as many ingredients as you want, and all of the ingredients are really fresh. The owner once told me that he used to work at a fruit seller’s shop, and that’s how he knows how to choose the best fruit for his shop here as well.

GrandCoeur

restaurant · Le Marais · €€€

This is a fancy French restaurant for special occasions. Great atmosphere, very French, great food.

JJ Hings Ice Cream

ice cream · Canal Saint-Martin ·

This is my favorite ice cream in Paris. It’s so unique, it’s so tasty, and all of their flavors are on a week-on-week basis, so it’s worth checking their Instagram to see what they have on.

Khajuraho

restaurant · Invalides · €€€

To me, this is my favorite Indian restaurant in Paris. This is proper North Indian fine dining. Their butter chicken and garlic naan are amazing. Their Bombay pani puri is absolutely amazing, and it’s what I get every time.

Another lesser-known recommendation for this place is to get the Jaljeera soda. It’s a really spicy and strong Jaljeera drink which I absolutely love taking every single time.

Kodawari Ramen (Tsukiji)

restaurant · Palais-Royal · €€

This is my favourite ramen place in all of Paris, but it has really long lines and there’s no way to reserve. It’s the kind of place where you should get into the virtual queue, have a drink around the area, and when your table is ready, you will receive a notification. What I also really like about it is that it’s modeled after a fish market in Japan, and they do a really good job with the interior so you actually feel like you’re in Japan.

Kuma

restaurant · Le Marais ·

This is my favorite Japanese curry in all of Paris. Again, you need to wait like 15-20 minutes in the line, sometimes longer, but it’s totally worth it. My favorite thing to get here is the chicken karaage curry.

Little Yak

restaurant · Beaubourg ·

If you are looking for momos in Paris, this is the place to go.

Madame Tortue

restaurant · Maison-Blanche ·

This is one of my favourite pizza places in Paris. I really suggest reserving in advance if you want to go there.

Monaco

restaurant · Gobelins · €€

This restaurant used to be right next to my old apartment, and I went there all the time for coffee as well as breakfast, but they also have a really fancy dinner which is super tasty. If you are looking for French fusion food and a feeling that you are really in Paris, this is the place. My top recommendation for breakfast is their brioche perdue.

Muniyandi Vilas

restaurant · La Chapelle ·

If you’re looking for Sri Lankan food, this is the place to go. What I love eating here is their Biryani as well as their Kothu Parotta.

Oroyona

restaurant · Quartier Latin ·

This is a really small but very tasty creperie. I used to go there when I was a student, and I went there recently as well, and it just has not changed. It’s really cheap, very reasonable, and has a very old-school charm.

Pristine

restaurant · Opéra · €€

SUGO pasta fresca

restaurant · Bourse · €€

Sürpriz - Berliner Kebab

restaurant · Oberkampf ·

Waly-Fay

restaurant · Charonne · €€
